来自斐济、基里巴斯、密克罗尼西亚联邦、瑙鲁、纽埃、巴布亚新几内亚、所罗门群岛、汤加、瓦努阿图9个太平洋岛国的议员日前到访广东多地，考察广东在可持续发展、农业科技和循环经济方面的创新实践，以及中国全过程人民民主在广东的实践。
此行让瑙鲁议员雷尼尔·加达布（Rennier Gadabu）对中国有了新的认知，尤其对“美丽”和“高度现代化”的广东印象深刻。在与Daily Bae的专访中，他表示“亲身感受到的中国与西方媒体所传达的形象截然不同。”
Recently, parliamentarians from nine Pacific island nations—Fiji, Kiribati, the Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Vanuatu—visited Guangdong, China to explore its innovations in sustainable development, agricultural technology, and circular economy practices, as well as the implementation of China's whole-process people's democracy.
This visit offered Nauru MP Hon. Rennier Gadabu a renewed understanding of China. He was especially struck by Guangdong's beautiful and highly modernized landscape. In an interview with Daily Bae, he remarked, "How the West portrays China is different from actually being in China."
